Guest 17-APG Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 hello, i kno this wil sound stupid but what is flight mode and what does it do?! cheers rp tom 8) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No hassle, Flight mode simply turns off the radio transmitter ( the cellular phone signals) and allows the device to be used as an MP3 player or indeed you can do most other things withit. It is supposed to be for use whilst travelling in aircraft or indeed other places where you are not allowed to use mobile phones. To put the device into flight mode (on SP3I) just hold down the power button for a few seconds and it will bring up a " quick list" You will see the option there to choose "flight mode". When you want to turn on the transmitter again follow the same instruction. Hope this helps....
Guest NotoriousBGC Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 is there a utility out the that turns off the GSM radio (switches to flight mode) automatically at preset times? this would be useful in conserving the battery
