Guest dr_shabzzz Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 Hi guys I'm new to this site but have been reading for a few days and decided to join... Now I'm probably gunna really annoy some people with my first few posts, so sorry in advance but here it goes... I have an Orange SPV M500...I want some decent software, games, videos etc...where do i download them all from? How do i get hold of the Windows mobile divx and avi codecs? Also what version of Windows Mobile do i have? and will all software under the label of "windows mobile" work on my SPV? Thanks in advance ;)
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 Welcome to the forum ;) Start here for software : http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=...42&hl=essential Have a search for PocketdivXencoder to make your own vids and play them on TCPMP - get it here along with the missing codecs. Look in Settings, System tab, About for the version of Windows Mobile. Generally you need to look for Pocket PC version software. Your phone is not a Smartphone, strictly speaking, since it is stylus-based rather than keypad for input and there is naturally a difference with the software.

Will I need just PocketdivXencoder...or will i need VirtualDub and Auto Gordian Knot aswell?
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 TCPMP = The Core Pocket Media Player = light years ahead of Windows Media Player Click here -> http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/about You won't need VirtualDub and I've never heard of 'Auto Gordian Knot' ! There are fully detailed guides in our FAQs & Articles sections and don't be making illegal copies of DVDs or anything like that ;)
Guest Confused Stu Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 I tried Auto Gordian Knot a week or so ago as it seemed to say it'll do everything Pocket DVD Studio does (DVD straight to PPC) for free. I tried a little section to test that went to about 30Meg with PocketDivxEncoder and AGK pumped out a 250Meg file!!! I uninstalled it shortly afterwards! ;)
