I got a c550 and i'm quite happy with it, but the unexpected happened. the volume control on the side just come off while i was adjusting the volume. so it really doesn't even bother me, because i took the orange care. and i've been paying the orange care for more than a year now.

then i phoned the customer service, tell them what happen. the lady says, sorry to say but we can't replace your handset with a new one. you should rang the manufacturer instead to replace your phone. then i was "WHAT THE F*** IS THE USE OF THE F***in ORANGE CARE?!!!". I'VE BEEN PAYING ORANGE CARE SINCE I WAS WITH THEM, AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T REPLACE A NEW ONE. ORANGE CARE IS USELESS. YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS USELESS, IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN HELP THE CUSTOMERS OR MOST OF THE EMPLOYEE OF ORANGE JUST CARE ABOUT THE COMMISSION.

then i rang again but this time the retention, told them that i'm going to leave orange co'z the service sucks, the person that i talk with is very nice and he said that he is going to do something with it. and luckily he told me that he can replace the phone, no charge. i mean what do you mean no charge, if i'm paying the insurance.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! CO'Z PROBABLY YOU MIGHT ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS WILL JUMP OVER TO OTHER NETWORK.

SHAME, TOO MANY BAD COMMENTS ABOUT YOUR NETWORK AND STAFF ESPECIALLY TO ALL YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF.

don't take any orange care co'z no one from orange give a d***.

"HEY ORANGE, THERE IS WATCHDOG THAT MIGHT WANT TO WATCH YOU".

you may want to take a look at the image that is attached.

O care will probably replace it; they cannot ensure that the handset you get will be new as it *may* be reconditioned. Phone them again. Oh yeah, they'll charge the £15 excess thingy-ma-bob as well. Enjoy ;)

All claims under Orange Care are subject to a £15 administration fee. That's why you should go to the manufacturer. Providing it's within warranty, the phone should be replaced by the manufacturer free of charge. Orange could have replaced your phone, but you'd have paid for it.

The 'use of Orange Care' is to replace your phone if it is lost, stolen, damaged or faulty. You had a fault and the person you spoke to recommended the cheapest course of action. If it had been lost, stolen or damaged, the manufacturer would not replace the equipment, would they? Orange would, with a £15 administration fee, have sent you a new phone.

Have to say, I've always had Orange care and never really had a problem with it. I've generally had software issues (the old headset profile sticking and a couple of issues with me C500). They told me that the excess only gets charged the second time you claim. That was about 2 or 3 months back - whether their policy has changed.

I've argued the toss with them a couple of times, especially if an issue arises just after it's replaced - generally along the lines of "I'm not paying the excess because the goods you sent were faulty" and they've creditted the excess back to my account twice.

Didn't even think about sending it back to the manufacturer - presumably Orange have the contact details of you need them? Or is that supposing a little too much?

i think orange's service is top notch, the other day my headset broke for the c550. i walked into my local orange shop, with my phone, headset and reciept.

i said, i got this a while back now and the right channel on the headset has gone poof.

guy said, "did you buy it from here,?" i said "yes", he took headset off me, went in the back, came out with a brand new headset and that was the end of that one.

i dont know wat the fuss about orange is.

They charged me the first time i had my C500 replaced the cheeky gits allthough the second time the didn't? allthough it took them about 5 days to sort it out. weird...

obviously the guy actually knows customer service, maybe it's just the Orange phone monkeys that are going down the pan......

Topic starter: calm down son! I can understand your frustration, as Orange Care can be very sketchy as to what it covers. At the end of the day it all comes down to what sort of CSR you come up against when you call 150. If you get a bad CSR, hang up, try again.

good for you, i dunno if you've been a member on modaco for a while or just this sept. if you're always online and viewing for a new posts everyday. i think you can see that there are lots of people moaning about orange, not just me.

and is there any ways that you phone orange and try to explain to them that you have a faulty phone and you have orange care and the person that you talk to tells you that they can't change the phone.

customer service is not just helping people going on the shops/store but the people who can't go to shops too. what's the use of the call customer service staff who are sitting their a** in the office and earning if they can't help every customer, the customers are the one who are paying them. so, they have to give back the favor to us customers.

I can understand your frustration at orange and i agree with you, sometimes they can be a pain in the a**. It mostly depends on the CSR you get as ive experianced this a few times. My advice would be if you get this kind of trouble ranting and raving aint gonna get you anywhere be as polite as possible, have a laff and joke with them, the more stuck up you be the less likely they will do anything for you. If your talking to them try and side track the CSR whilst they are doing thier thing, be polite and humerous, trust me this works wonders.

The best thing to hit them with is a screen problem that is persistent as well as what has happened to your phone, this means when they get it bak if the screen does work oh well you did say it was "persistent" so what a shame!

have fun peeps!

Orange care used to be really useful to me.

I used to get really drunk on occassion, so drunk in fact that I couldn't txt properly. I couldn't focus on the screen and using my thumb? I would have been as well trying to txt with my nose. Of course, when your that drunk, nothings YOUR fault is it? No No No, it's the phone right?

I think I must of either smashed up, thrown away, submerged in my pint, chewed (blamed that one on my girlfriends dog :) ), burned, drop kicked, and finally pissed on, about eighteen phones in six years

Yep, Orange care replaced every single one the next day. Great :D

Yep, I'm sure your asking yourself, didn't I feel guilty at outrageously taking advantage of an Insurance policy?

The answer is - I used to (really, I was always drunk at the time  ).

But not now I've left. Well, they let me go you know. I wonder why?

Still charged me bloody £24.26 for a freakin PAC!!!! C*&nts!
