Anyone try skype ?

Just wondering if anyone has got the smartphone beta version of skype working ?

I've installed it and apart from not working with QVGA screen it will not log me on, just keeps saying "Connecting" Mind you I'm trying to connect through passthrough, will try wifi when I get home.

Anyone any better luck?

Yeah I tried over wi-fi too and just get connecting........

guess it'll take a rewrite to get it going on WM5, wonder how long it'll take ?!

From the look of this, the only thing stopping it working is that it requires a touchscreen for some input.

They've tried this at Mobile-review.com, although the only thing they said (as far as I see, haven't read it thoroughly) was:

However the problem is that it is meant to work with the touch screen, without it you can’t get authorized in the system. It doesn’t matter, we used Pocket Controller Professional 5.03 to operate the smartphone from PC screen, and we’ve got successfully authorized in the system and made a call via Skype. The headset produced good sound, but frames were dropping out from time to time, the sound quality proved acceptable.

I'm working on a mouse emulator for the Sp5... it will use the D-Pad to control a pointer which appears on the screen ;)
