Nice simple query I hope.

I'm trying to access the internet on my phone when it's connected by USB. Am I capable of doing this please? I'm sure there are some comments on this forum of how to do this, but I don't really know how to do it...

For what it's worth, I have a wireless broadband (and router) if that is any help to you...

Please help!

Thanks

Try making sure that the 'Internet connection' setting (found in settings, data settings) is on automatic and not orange. Then when your connected up to your pc through your usb cable you should be able to connect to the net off your phone without getting the little 'G' icon appear over your signal strength, hence, free internet on your mobile 8) But it goes really slow so you'd probably be better using the pc anyway.

If you want to go wireless then you'll need wi-fi on your phone, or a usb bluetooth dongle but the latter would be just as slow as the usb. Wi-Fi is the way forward!

Hope that helps,

Killian

Well I don't know much about getting Wi-Fi onto an older but I know you can buy a wifi card that slots into your phone but phones like my c500 don't accept it, can't get it under the battery or something ;)

The latest models that are coming out have it built in, most of them anyway. Besides the C600 which is a real bummer! I'll live though, will jus stick with my c500 till something better comes along!

Ok - I'll stop here and not try any more... I know how wifi is supposed to be the killer application, curses that the C600 doesn't have it installed!

I use the BT on my C500 and use pass thru on my activesync. It's not all that slow. It hasnt cost me anything extra either because I already had everything.
