A TV program called "Attack of the Show" was sent some new T-mobile USA phones to demo in October. They said it will be released "next month" which is now this month. I am dying for this phone and the extra hump on top, I think and hope, will increase signal strength.

In case anyone is interested in seeing the demonstration of this sweet phone, you can see it here:

Sorry about the words across the middle, I was using shareware. And sorry about the URL, I had to borrow the server space.

Just wish it would come out over here in the UK rather then the poor imitation we have at the moment (SDA II WITHOUT wifi and still running WM2003SE)

Oh, and I've edited the above post slightly to comply with forum rules ;)

Sorry about that. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to put links to other websites :-)

Why does it have a protruding pseudo-antenna over the top of the phone? The SP5m doesn't have it.

From what I have read, this is because it is the USA model. Since the US is so large, cell coverage is very patchy. They have the hump on the top to give it a better antenna for a better signal.

That's fine by me. I use my mobile as my home phone. Inside my house seems to be the worst signal in the area. I would gladly have a little extra hump for a better signal. Come on wifi!!

Well, perhaps bad news. I called T-mobile USA to ask them when this is coming and the first guy at the prepaid desk had no idea what I was talking about. Then he transferred me to the contract people. She looked in some computer that showed all upcoming releases. There were two quad-band phones with wifi coming this month (some nokia and another one), but she didn't know what a smartphone was and there was nothing about an SDA. I asked for a supervisor but she said that they would have the same info.

Maybe one of you guys would have better luck getting to the bottom of this? Any ideas how to contact the PR manager for T-mobile USA who might have sent "Attack of the Show" these phones?
