Wrecked screen

Please can someone help me. I use Displex to remove some scratches. When I polished off the paste, I was left with a rectangle box on the screen that won't go away. I thought it was scratched even worse but it looks like a perfect rectangle. Anyone got any ideas what it is and how I remove it.
