SMT 5600 Networked Locked problem

Im a newbie to this forum and the SMT and Heres my problem. I bought a SMT5600 brand new off Ebay and it was supposed to be locked to cingular. WHen i got the phone it was new in the box but it is an AT&T phone. WHen I enter my sim in says networked locked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No one at cingular or Audiovox is any help and cingular wont let me exchange :evil: it because im not the original owner.

Can someone help me with this problem or point me in the right direction? :??: I have searched the forum for similar questions and havent really found any answers.

I do not have an AT&T sim to get to the home screen to use the common unlocking program

ok i somewhat understand what is going on in that thread but it seems like i need to acess the phone to do it. the problem is that i do not have an at&t sim to get to the start menu I only have a cingular sim so i cant get to the start menu. if im incorrect please tell me.
