Error during ROM update!

I just download the latest ROM 4.2.10.3 from orange website to have media player 10.I backed up all my data to pc and start the update.My ROM is 4.1.10.3, ewerithing goes fine until the update starts, but after several seconds it stops and :"Error [294]:INVALID VENDER ID"... "THIS UPDATE UTILITY CANNOT BE USED FOR YOUR SmatrPhone.PLEASE CHECK YOUR UPDATE UTILITY! " :shock:

HMMMM....just wondering WHY? :cry:

I have read a lot of comments about new Orange ROM for c500.But none of them had any solution.Please if anyone knows a good link please help me...I would be beholden the one who could help me...Thanks

Well you can bypass that with the typhoonnbftool but it should update seeing as its an orange rom and you have an orange phone? So i don't see where the problem is.

Oh, ok...So my ROM version i think is:" Version 4.21.1088 (Build 14217) ".I have unlocked my phone already on Orange website.Can you tell me about "removing the network restriction"??Can this be a reason?Thanks

SPV-Developers tool opens a device for any rom (presumably from any region) so if you do find it's because your Orange SPV C500 is from a region other then Romania (10) then it should resolve it, but before we start going through how to use the tool can u check what the current rom is?

Scroll down further in the About screen until you reach a number similar to either 4.2.1.2 or 4.2.10.3... this is the operator rom version I was asking about in the duplicate thread...

I am from Romania and have done the update with the french ROM using the NBF tool .

There is no romanian ROM update for SPV C500 nor it will be as far as i know i used the french ROM to update my romanian C500 .

If you bought it from Romania it won't work unless you use the NBF tool as the ROM is only for french C500 .I modified the update file following the instructions and the update succesfully installed.

Oops. Was away for a couple of days and missed all the posts since my last.

Coldfire, there is a Romanian rom. It's 4.2.10.3 and it's publicised on the Orange Romania website (although doesn't seem to be a link).

Anyway, glad you got it resolved to your satisfaction.

I did not thought they'll update the C500 ,however the French ROM is 4.2.2.1.

I browsed on Orange Romania website and found ROM 4.1.10.3 it is my old ROM .Where have u seen 4.2.10.3 anyway ?

If you downloaded the ROM (.exe file) ,unzip it with WinRar (at least version 3.42) and you will find the file to patch.

No problem m8 ! That is my old ROM the one that was installed when i bought the phone ,however it is less likely that they will update C500 as it is not a "succes" over here. ;)

i did that to the nk.nbf file and it still won't install . i still get that error message?

does my phone have to be unlocked?
