Guest stevie_mac Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Hi, as the topic state, I am unable to send SMS. Background... MPX200 (Orange UK) Upgraded to WM2003 (some months ago) - OK Dog ate Wife's phone SIM Unlocked MPX200 & put wife's Vodafone SIM card in - OK Phone calls OK. First Text sent OK Second text - No worky! Texts compose OK, but when you press Send, nothing happens - stays on edit screen. Tried setting up Data Connections for Vodafone http://www.mobilegadgetnews.com/index.php?showtopic=6794 Still no good. Tried restarting phone - all settings entered for Vodafone LOST!!! As she is only interested in phone calls and text, the Data Connection stuff ain't that much a problem. Perhaps somewhere in the phone I need to setup the "message centre number" for Vodafone??? Please assist. Regards - Steve.
Guest TOPGUN1988 Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 I have the MPx200 too, and i also have the Windows Mobile 2003 upgrade, and it is keen on ignoring buttons many times.. many solutions for you. 1.) Try downloading Recource manager (some kind of task manager that with it you can stop programs running on the backround) run Task manager from Recource Manager's menu and press menu/"Kill All". 2.) If that don't work start phone withought SIM. shut down, restart phone with sim, try again. 3.) if all that don't work, try to HARD RESET your phone: Shut down phone, fully charge battery, while phone off press and hold the blue action button and start phone. question will come up askin if you want to hard reset your phone.. (process kinda tricky with windows 2003... ..never tried it...) after hard reseting, try again, should work 100%.. if not 4.) keep dog away from wife's new phone... ;) :D :D
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 I would go for the Hard Reset option first but also check how much storage space you have on on the phone. If the internal storage becomes full it can prevent you from sending SMS as it needs the internal storage as part of the SMS process.
