Guest Eaze Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Hi, I need some help regarding a startup problem on my spv c550. When I was trying to open a program the other day, my phone switched off and rebooted. The rebooting actually doesn't seem to work, because it stays stuck on the Windows Mobile screen. After a few seconds, the blue (right) light flickers five times, before it reboots again. To end this everlasting sequence, I have to remove the battery. Does anyone know what to do? I'm quite desparate here, I can't do a thing! Please help...
Guest peekie Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 if you cannot get the phone to boot there are 2 things you can try .. when the phone is off press and hold the camera button and press the on switch , you should see the 3 colour mode.then take out the battery and switch on the phone if all boots up ok then the second opion will not be needed. 2nd option is a hard reset read more on that ****HERE****
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Welcome to the forum :D please pardon my colleague ;) :D For reference - blue flashing is Bluetooth On. When you say "trying to open a program" it might help if you stated which program exactly. Or it might not matter. I'd be surprised with the C550 but it might mean there was not enough phone memory for the program to launch itself.
Guest Jamma14 Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 (edited) No Stu, fraid the blue light isn't anything to do with bluetooth. I know it flashes when the phone is on and you put bluetooth on but... I hardly ever have bluetooth on on my c550, and the blue light flickers when you start up anyway (just a 3 or 4 times) - I guess it's just to show that the phone's booting up - a bluetooth and boot up light. ;) Edited November 6, 2005 by Jamma14
Guest Eaze Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Thanks a lot for replying on such short notice! It worked in the second way you advised me. Glad to have my phone back in business, but it leaves me with a question though: would it possible to (by not completely knowing what you're doing) accidentally destroy your smartphone, in such a way that it can not be fixed? (BIOS flash..?) And would it be possible to have the hard reboot function acting as a safetynet for when I don't exactly know what I'm doing (e.g. installing unknown/unsafe software)? Or would'nt that be wise? Thanks again! p.s. thanks peekie! Een hoop wortels voor jou!
