Guest raptown Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 (edited) Hello to everyone! Does anybody know why can`t I transfer a rar file from my audiovox 5600 to PC (It also happens with photo´s and mp3´s). I can drag ém to my phone but not backwards. My firewall is already set to off but files won´t transfer to PC...any idea??? (I did it through "drag and drop" using usb ´s windows/activesync explorer) Thanks in advance!! Guest bradmatejo Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Where do you put the files on the phone? Have you tried Copy/Paste instead of drag and drop? Does it always happen with that filetype, or can you do some .rar's and not others?
Guest raptown Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 I´ve tried copy/paste...I put the files on a Kingston 256mb miniSD. It is strange because i can transfer cab files to pc but not rar or zip´s. The transfer window appears but as the progress line reaches half of it, it disappears and the file is not transfered. What could it be?? Thanks for your reply
Guest SinisterJunkie Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Not sure if this might be the cause, but try turning off the file conversion in ActiveSync, if not done already. Tools - Options - Rules - Conversion Settings...
Guest raptown Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 i think i´ve tried everything! Even turning flight mode on. There is no way to transfer to pc...it´s weird...when i try, it even shows progress bar going till the end as the file being copied but the file won´t appear on pc windows Maybe it has some kind of factory block...o i should try a 3rd party transfer application. is there anybody with the same problem? (i suspect it has something to do with XP new security issues)
Guest bradmatejo Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 I just tried a .rar file. I copied it from my pc to my phone's mini-sd card, disconnected from ActiveSync, reconnected to ActiveSync, and copied the file back to my pc. No problem. FWIW, I was facing north, monitor facing south of course, and the phone was laying with the top facing west. Maybe there's some effect from polarity...? jk of course ;)
Guest raptown Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 jajajaja! It doesn´t work either...well, I install activesync on another computer and it works fine!! Windows XP has done it again...I guess my "inactive" firewall has something to do...I´ll solve it eventually Thanks guys!
