Guest MitzEclipse Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Google released google local for mobile: http://www.google.com/glm I have downloaded the app on my cell, however, the app hangs on the installation of the java MIDlet. I get this error: Failed to install the Midlet: An error occured while attempting to download the file at 'http://www.google.com/glm/apps/v1.0.0/gmaps-midp2.ajr'! Any suggestions?
Guest Cabana Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 I just installed it on my 5600 and it runs fine, but it says "this phone can't view satellite imagery" when I try to switch from maps to satellite.

I had no issues except that the device does not support satellite
Guest Griff_FFOC Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Works fine on my C500, although I had to pick the SMT5600 option, and again, says the phone can't view satellite imagery. It's a neat little app, but very good for us brits yet.
Guest Cliffjumper Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 It seems a lot of the phones can't view satellite imagery. At least, no one at my office could, on a wide range of phones. Maybe since this software is still in Beta, the satellite portion is totally complete yet. At least, that's what I hope! (I'm a U.S. SMT 5600 btw)
