Guest rperalta Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Can you run the Right Menu in your QVGA machine and tell me wether the result is right and upload a screenshot? After the test, we will send you a free license. Thanks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> zjf1998, Do you still need a tester? I have an Audiovox SMT5600 with WM5 and soon to have the HTC 2125 (WM5 also) from Cingular. Thanks, rperalta
Guest spider Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 (edited) @ zjf1998 Here are the screen shoots as promised. Right menu is installed on a C 550 running WM 2003 SE with a QVGA screen. As you can see on the below pictures is looks good, however in the EDIT menu, there is sometimes some strange black lines around "right menu" and "right menu edit". However this does not always happen. You will also see that the pop up menu is not aligned with the "right menu" from the home screen. Otherwise it looks pretty good to me (the poor looking icons (like the "alarm") in the edit menu, is not caused by "right menu" but it is the program(icon) itself which is not made for QVGA screens. If you need any other testing please let me know ;) Edited November 8, 2005 by spider
Guest zjf1998 Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 It seems that it has exist two problem: 1. its icon didn't fit the size 2. popup menu didn't fit the position. we will do more test. Thanks Please tell me your email by pm. Thanks. The quality of the pictures is not excellent and is caused by converting to GIF'S <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Guest spider Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 (edited) ohh and another issue....the pop up menu does not disappear when the softkey is pressed again (which is usually the case in other menus)...but rather you have to press either BACK key or HOME key... Guest drblow Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Just wanted to say that this is a brilliant app! It does exactly what it says on the tin! :D What wouold make this absolutely perfect would be the ability to skin the menu - would that be possible in the future? & if we could see icons in the menu too that would look really nice. Excellent work guys! ;)
Guest zjf1998 Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Some one also talk about the requirement. Because we use the default menu to show and sp menu doesn't support own-draw so that now we can't implement that. Maybe we can use other way to implement it. Thanks Just wanted to say that this is a brilliant app! Guest rperalta Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 (edited) It's very cool and useful application! When I click File | Exit, it's still showing "Right Menu" on the right soft key (homescreen). I thought once you exit it goes back to the default. Best regards, rperalta Edited November 9, 2005 by rperalta
Guest mirzaa Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 I am currently using gstart as a start menu repayment, and have just installed the right menu trial. Although it is a well built app I personally prefer icons in my start menu. never the less coming from a pocket pc background I have always missed the 'new item’ menu and have longed for someone to develop a right button alternative that works as a new item menu so that I could just right click whist on my home screen and select new sms and start writing the message, or chose new contact, new appointment, new task... and so on. Assuming this could be done via the use of possible shortcut parameters. I would buy this app immediately, so I would appreciate it if anyone who is aware of any shortcut parameters that could allow for such functionality would post them here. I currently have a SDA however I did have a orange c500 for a short period and that provide similar functionality as to what I am looking for with its standard home screen pluggins, but this was restricted to the standard theme, and only a couple of themes arable hear Maybe someone with a c500 could look in to how this is accomplished, it would allow for the same functionality without locking you down to the standard home screen.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 @mirzaa You can include shortcuts to Contacts, and Calendar on Right Menu. If you want to go directly to an account in inbox, have a look at this thread: http://www.modaco.com/TotW_Going_Directly_...ox-t207260.html For the 'Compose New SMS' task, you can use script for that. Have a look at this blog entry: http://www.gpcarreon.com/?p=121 I suggest you use the 'no right soft key integration' version then just add the link (Compose New) as a submenu on Right Menu just like any other LNKs. ;)
Guest fozzie Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 How do I remove this? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Errr, 'File, Uninstall' perhaps ?!
Guest zjf1998 Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Choose "Uninstall" and restart the device. Then remove the application. Errr, 'File, Uninstall' perhaps ?! <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Guest mirzaa Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 @gpcarreon thank you very much for you impute, I will be looking in to scripts to see if I can create individual scripts for all the things I would like to see in my right menu. I had seen the scripting tool used in you site for folder re-direction in the past, but being ignorant I dismissed it because it wouldn’t allow me to gain access to folders outside of the 'windows\start menu' folder tree such as 'my documents' and the 'storage card'. Once again I thank you for bringing this functionality to my attention and all the good that comes from you on this forum and your site.

Guest fozzie Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 3. Add Toolkit: New SMS <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Unfortunately, this only works if you haven't changed the 'friendly name' of the Text Message service; you just end up at the list of mail accounts ;)
Guest spyda Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 I installed Right Menu and after removing it, I still get the Right Menu right-soft key. What registry setting do I use to reset it back to the default functionality? -icky
