Problem With Alarms and Categories on Calender

I have an MDA Vario (just upgraded from SPV M1000) and the missus has a MDA Compact. We have set-up categories on Outlook so that we can filter out each others appointments etc on our MDAs, however, regardless of what filters are applied, we get alarms and notifications for both her and my appointments. Any ideas how to stop this annoying thing happening?
