GPRS on O2 PAYG

Hi all. Sorry if you've been over this 100 times, but I cant find anything that says otherwise. I'm on O2 PAYG and i've found various settings in the repositry and on other web-sites but i can't get GPRS to connect on my E200.

I just spoke to O2 who tell me I cannot use GPRS on PAYG, only wap.

I basically just want to be able to check a pop3 e-mail account on my phone when away from my computer.

Is GPRS possible on O2 PAYG or is there another way I could check my pop3?
