Guest illi Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 I was into 'human mobility'; Instant Messaging at the fore-front. Both mov Messenger (paid version) and AgileMessenger are installed on my mobile. I am subscribed to many jabber services! When mobispine.com and netomat.com started promoting their InstantMessenging solution my interest in Java hightened. BUT I'm using Qtek voyager; so, where do I get the Javaman and MIDP 2.0? Well, how fortunate I was! After a week of surf-searching, I managed to download both of these software. I believe these software are illegal - so please DONT ASK for the link. Do yourself a favor if you really want them ;-). Dont PM me as I seldom read them. I successfully installed Javaman and MIDP-ng. I also managed to installed the following midlets: Thesaurus, Translator, MIDP-Man (PACman), AND yes they do work well. Mobispine (my main interest to Java) could be installed BUT failed to launch. Contacted mobispine and was reassured that a version that supports my Javaman/MIDP-ng will be released in a couple of weeks. I cant at all install netomat. I am puzzled as to why Javaman screen doesnt show any installed/uninstalled midlet at all. I have to launch/install midlets through the MIDP-ng. Another interesting issue is that the MIDP-ng's short-cut in my start menu is listed as MIDP-AMS and the menu bar shows "IBM MIDP 2.0". What is the role of Javaman?? Any help appreciated here!! THANKS in advance! After a week of Javaman, I am a bit concerned as the files created from installing midlets are increasing exponentially. These files are system-created in \Storage\My Documents\Midlets. (It now contains 42 files with a combined whoopping size of 1.52MB - phew!! There is also another folder created in \Storage\My Documents\recordStores with 43 files and taking up space of 1.77KB. To install midlets ' copy the *.jad/*.jar files to a directory. (I use File Manager and have them copied to a manually created directory: \Storage\Program Files\Java) Still using File Manager, high-light the files that you want to install and click the 'Action' button or Menu>5 (run). This will automatically take you to MIDP-AMS. The rest screen prompts should be self-explanatory.
