Guest ScottS Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Hi Guys, I am a bit disappointed with the profiles on my C550. Being at school means that I need the option to completely put my phone on silent, not just vibrate as you get stressy teachers who will confiscate it even if its only vibrating. My silent profile will allow me to put the incoming call alert to silent, but notifications must either be Vibrate, Vibrate and Sound, Vibrate then Sound or Play Sound. I want an "Off" option here. I had a pop at creating a whole new profile through the registry. I found the list of profiles at: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Profiles I created a new one called test, with the same keys as the other profiles. It shows up in Settings, Profiles and on the Quick List (when you tap the Power Button), however when you click on edit in Settings, a blank screen appears with no options to change. I couldn't find anything else in the registry about Profiles so I think that there is a file that I need to edit somewhere. Anyone know where? Thanks for reading another of my long posts ;) Scott
Guest w411y Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Hmm strange ... On my C550, going to Start->Settings->Profiles and then Edit on the Silent profile i can change the ring type to "Silent"
Guest ScottS Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Just to Confirm: I can select Silent for the Ring Tone, but not for the Alarm or the Notification (Text Message, MMS, Email)
Guest hotphil Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Surely if you set the notification type to "play sound" but the notification volume to "off" that will do the trick?
Guest ScottS Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Cheers mate that has done the trick. Is there still a way of creating a new profile though so that I can have a Silent profile and a Vibrate one?
Guest w411y Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Why don't you edit the Meeting profile for example to the Vibrate profile your after ... I mean, us school kids don't have many meetings ;)
