C500: No GPS Signal...aaaaargh!

hello all. first time poster.

i've searched the forums and can't seem to find the answer to my problem, so i'm hoping some kind-spirited person can help.

i have a c500 (software unlocked) and i'm managing to run the TomTom 5 software.

i am pairing my BT GPS unit with my mobile (and it is staying paired when it is named BT GPS, but not when renamed to TomTom Wireless GPS?). ]

i have tried just checking com port 7 and checking both 6 and 7...and i've tried changing the GPS device in the options.

the GPS unit is flashing blue to show it is paired and red to show there is a signal...but the phone's having none of it.

any ideas?
