Guest bruxi Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Well, Ive done it! Ive made the step from Smartphone and gone for the Vario, after waiting too long for Orange to bring out the C600. Firts impressions of the Vario are good but Im dissapointed with the phone side of things. The manual says it has Smart Dialling which works similar to the smartphone, where you can start typing someones name rather than number and then make the call, hence less presses. My Vario does not seem to have Smart Dialling. Has anyone else got this problem?
Guest Matx Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 No problems with my vario. For one handed use I press the send button (the bottom left key - green phone button), the dial pad comes up on the screen, I use my thumb to press 3-4 of the first letters of the contact's name, use the direction pad to select the contact and finally use the send button to call. Hope this helps. Matx

Guest Pondrew Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 I must be missing the software, I will have to ring T-mobile. Thanks for that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You didn't happen to prevent the extended rom installing did you? Because I wouldn't be surprised if that app is in the extended rom and some peeps are wrongly advising you don't need what's in there... :?:
Guest bruxi Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Sorted. Pondrew I think you were right. The good old hard reset did the trick. I realised I didnt have the Quick Access Panel either on the today screen which made me a bit suspicious. Hats off to Tmobile though they offered to stick a new one in the post and everything. Thanks folks!
Guest Pondrew Posted November 13, 2005 Report Posted November 13, 2005 Glad you got it sorted. Folk preventing the installation of their extended rom and so removing some of the functionality of their Pocket PC Phones without realising it is something of an epidemic at the moment :?:
