Sync thru internet?

Ok,

I have ran the following searches:

"Sync thru internet"

"Activesync internet"

"network sync'

All I am trying to do is remotely sync my MPx220 to my home pc over the GPRS internet. I am sure it can be done. I have vague statements about using a vpn.

I setup a vpn server and forwarded the appropriate ports on my router. But I just can't get the two to connect. Am I missing something?

I also checked my network settings with the ones on this site. They are slightly different

like my access point is wap.cingular and my user name is [email protected]. But it works...

I even added a vpn network connection but I am not sure if I did it right.

I used PPTP as the type

connects from internet

to work

The IPSEC authentication didn't seem to make sense though. There was no options for that on my windows XP.

But even if that did work, how do I get active sync to connect thru it?

ANy help here would be great!
