Guest youngerpants Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 This should realy be on the ADSL topic, but it is slightly different; Does anyone know if any UK ISP's are offering SDSL yet. I've got a few sattelight offices connected using ADSL VPN's, but 256K upstream is a bit naff. Any suggestions?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Only if your feeling flush...
Guest youngerpants Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Its not my money, so I can be as flush as I like. I know BT aren't doing it untill 2004, but i need something cheaper than leased line and fatter than dsl
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 At work we have 10meg full dupe from BT. Not sure how much we're paying for that though. Bug BT some more ;)
Guest Anonymous Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Easynet's probably the firm you're looking for - they're the first people to introduce SDSL in the UK. It's a few hundred quid per month for 2meg sym (can't remember the exact price), and they've unbundled main city centre exchanges.
Guest Firaas Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Damnit. Keep forgetting to login. Yes that was me. Forgot the URL, http://www.easynet.net/solutions/solutions_dsl_llu.asp.
Guest youngerpants Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Thanks firaas, the current VPN connection their is on EasyNet DSL anyway, time to have a chat with our account manager methinks
Guest Gorskar Posted January 25, 2003 Report Posted January 25, 2003 Easynet offer the BT standard ADSL on exchanges that they havn't local loop unbundled. Its only a few exchanges that they offer SDSL services on, so I'd check that you can get it first. It's not cheap, but its a damn sight cheaper than leased lines!!!
