Guest rodg98133 Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 I noticed that 3 do some phones that are not 3G capable. If this is the case am i right in thinking 3 do sim cards that would work in a normal non 3 phone? The reason being my girlfriends lovely big NEC has packed up and at the moment were a bit restricted as to a replacment phone we could purchase. I am wanting to give her my C500 when I have finished with it. Will this be possible if I can get 3 to send me a non 3G sim card? I really don't want to spend any money on a huge 3 phone?
Guest dearsina Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 I would be surprised if that's the case, I had the impression that the 3 network was a pure 3G network. Are you sure none of their phones are 3G? Perhaps some of the phones aren't video-calling enabled, but still 3...? sina london
Guest rodg98133 Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 I've phoned 3 and tey have said they don't do non 3G sims? The phone is was thinking about that is not 3G is a nokia but i cannot find a model number. Its the small square nokia. I was sure that I saw this on the 3 network quite a while ago. I might be mistaken. If not does anyone know of a decent phone on the 3 network that wont empty my pocket??
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 3 will do all they can to stop you from using their SIM on a non 3G phone. This is because they will lose money as you would be using the O2 network intead of their own.
Guest rodg98133 Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 Thats slightly annoyin  Anyone know any decent but cheap 3 phones?
