Guest mooman Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Hey there, I'm trying to figure out how to upgrade my SMT 5600 to Windows Mobile 5. I've been searching these forums for a tutorial but I can't seem to find one. Can someone point me to one? Thanks. Also, I think I'll need to back up my ROM before upgrading to WM5... But, I don't have a miniSD card lying around at the moment. If I muck up the upgrade, and I don't have a backup, does that mean my phone is bricked? Or, does that mean I have to do a hard reset and I lose all my data but my phone still works?
Guest hotphil Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 (edited) Your phone will be bricked if you screw up the ROM update. And unless you've somehow managed to buy a legal WM5 ROM upgrade, you'll probably find this topic locked pretty quick for discussion of illegal software - see the forum rules "MoDaCo runs a zero tolerance policy on ilegal software and ROMs" Edited November 16, 2005 by hotphil
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 There isn't any official WM5 ROM update for the SMT5600 as far as I'm concerned so we can't discuss topics like this on the forum. Kindly check your Inbox for a friendly PM. Thanks.
