C550 screen stays on wile charging via USB

Is there any way of turning the screen off wile charging? For some reason it stays on :?:

Do you use TCPMP?

If so then you have to exit TCPMP for the backlight to turn off... or download the new version 7.0 from their website :)

I think ceanth probably means it's the screen rather than the backlight that stays on whilst charging - I seem to recall mine does. I know of no way of stopping it doing so (and can't really think of a reason I would want to stop it). Ceanth, you may just have to live with it....

the reason why i wanted to stop this is because it would probably increase the charging time!

Thats is strange. Mine goes off after 30sec. On a related note, I had experienced screen staying on but that was with the C500 after playing a video on TCPMP version 0.66. A restart resolves the issue.

I have a C500 and this problem really annoys me. I have to leave my phone upside down at night otherwise the screen just fills my room with light?? Really annoying!!
