Guest ewel Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I wanted to edit the original MS splash screen, ms_splash.gif, but I cannot copy it to the PC. The best I managed was a copy of 1 Kb which is empty/corrupt, after I changed the read-only setting of the file on the phone. I think the issue is that it is a system file. Does anyone know how to copy it to the PC or does anyone have a copy? Thanks in advance!
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Try using the built-in Explorer program of Feeler to copy the file to a folder on your phone. Also, try to set your PC's Folder Options to: 1. 'Show Hidden Fildes or Folders' 2. Disable 'Hide protected operating system files' To do that open My Documents folder on PC > Tools > Folder Options > View tab. Sync phone to PC then try to copy the gif file from root Windows folder to a PC folder.

But just now I managed by sending the file over infrared through SmartExplorer! Very strange, probably ActiveSync incorporates Microsoft's idea of protecting us against our idiot selves. Thanks for the help though!
