Guest radiator Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Hello all, Got my K-Jam yesterday, and one of the first things I did was to install PocketC64 and PocketSCUMM (I’m a bit of a hardcore emulation man). I’m having a little trouble with them though; PocketSCUMM – for some reason, when I switch to landscape mode, then tap the middle edge of the screen, the onscreen keyboard pops up (in the background – if I then proceed to tap just to the right, it starts pressing the keyboard buttons). It’s almost like PocketSCUMM isn’t ‘on-top’ of the today screen. Is there any way around this (I’m guessing the same thing would happen if I clicked where the ‘Start’ button is)? PocketC64 – it seems as though the K-Jam has the dreaded ‘multipress’ issue of previous phones. If I run PocketC64 in landscape mode (with the D-pad to the left) and try to run and jump at the same time it doesn’t like it. I can get around this by defining keys on the slide-out keyboard – there doesn’t seem to be any multipress issues with it. However, if I hold a key for longer than a second or two it sticks (ie, if I’m running to the right and then let go of the key, the character keeps on running – a single press of the same key makes the character stop). I presume this is some kind of incompatibility between PocketC64 and the K-Jam…or is it? (damnit – all I want to do is play Manic Miner and Monty on the Run!!)
Guest radiator Posted November 19, 2005 Report Posted November 19, 2005 Well, turns out I was wrong...there is no multipress issue, so it must just be a problem with PocketC64. Running any other game/emulator, I can press a direction and another key at the same time (also, it seems as though diagonals are supported too! - I was playing Age Of Empires last night and I could scroll up, down, left, right, and diagonally through the map...!)
Guest TomaHawk Posted November 19, 2005 Report Posted November 19, 2005 what age of empires were you playing? an emulater or proper game? thanks
