Guest stretchy Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Is there a way to change the order of contacts name, ie: first name then last name instead of visa versa?
Guest Phil Lee Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I think that's controlled by the File As setting in Outlook.

Cheers anyway stretch
Guest bachy Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Sorry to dig up an old topic, however just having bought a miniS from O2 im with Stretchy on this and would like to know if there is a way to change the order of contacts name - when manually inputing contact details away from the PC.
Guest bachy Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Just found the answer to my own question, so here is the solution..... Change Display Name order in Contacts set Display name in Contacts: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\contact\cproghook] "FL"-> Set 0 if LastName then FirstName, 1 if FirstName then LastName However im suprised that this choice isnt built into mobile 2005 - was already there on my C500!!!
Guest dleasman Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 As long as we are on the topic of "Contacts Problems"... How about this one? I have many business contacts that have a business address, and others that have a home address, and some that have both. For each contact, you can specify the default mailing address. Here's the problem, or "annoyance". Randomly, many contacts that have a home address, but no business address at all, default back to business address on their own. The problem with this is that about once a week, I have to go through about 400 contacts and switch the default back to "home address" for up to 25% of the contacts. WHY? I know the obvious answer is that Outlook is a Microsoft product, and therefor, it sucks. I already know this. But I would like to know if there is a fix for this, or at least know what causes it, so that I can try to find a workaround. I do suspect that it has something to do with the fact that I sync with both my primary workstation at work and my primary workstation at home. Any help? -Dana

Guest t1ger1977 Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Yes, I would like to know how to get in to the registry too! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You have to install a registry editior, but I can't find where to change the contacts view at all! Down load the editor here: http://www.breaksoft.com/Blog/Utilities/20...try_Editor.aspx
