Mda vario issues

Hello all, been reading post for advice on modaco for a while now only just got round to registering and posting so thanks for the previous help :)

Just got an mda vario unlocked on o2 now and i've been having one or two problems

For a start all the t-mobile crap installed at the beging of ever reset is very annoying as the colour scheme is pretty rubbish and i'll never use any of it.

The wireless seems to be very picky about what networks it connects to if it connects at all!

The biggest problem is screen freezes and crashes, it seems to do it a lot and i have to hard reset, this wouldnt be a problem if there was a program that would let me do a back up of the device to restore from but non of them seem to work on 2005! It seems to be when ever i turn off the device (like other people) or try soft reset, it just freezes on the t-mobile boot screen.

Would it possible to update an mda vario with a rom from another device wizard k-jam etc?

Any one got any advice/tips on these matters
