Another newbie question

Sorry for all the newbie questions but...............

Using activesync i can transfer from pc to phone no problem but when i try and transfer from the phone to pc it goes thru the process but nothing appears on my pc, what i'm i doing wrong???

If do you use activesync to explore the device then pull a picture or sound onto the windows desktop and nothing happens?

Yeah can pull a file from the pc > phone but not the other way around phone > pc

It goes through the process but nothing is there on the pc??
