Guest gz5ztg Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 (edited) I have read a few posts about the power problems which are putting me off getting a C550. I would like a HT Wizard really but I need to save cash and I can get one of these on a low tariff from Orange. I used to have a C500 and loved it apart from dust, ended up selling i because dust got so bad. So are these phones any good? I used to basically use it to listen to tunes, read news using mobipocket and watch videos on the train. Edited November 19, 2005 by gz5ztg
Guest gilesjuk Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 I've seen and used one briefly, it's a bit of a stopgap phone and might get overlooked soon given the popularity of the SP5 and the soon to be released C600. If you can get one cheap it might be ok.
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 19, 2005 Report Posted November 19, 2005 My joystick stopped working pretty quickly. It is a nice phone, particularly when free from Orange, and I wonder how much better the C600 will actually turn out to be.

It is unlikely to be the same price either. Currently Orange are offering C550 free to my wife on upgrade with a low tariff and 512mb card thrown in as well. I'll get a PAYG and swap phones with her. Given the features I miss are in WM2003 anyway I might just get this one for now, I can't see that anything in WM2005 is essential especially given Orange have removed wifi from the C600. Plus even though programs will be written for C600/WM2005 there is a very good chance they would work on the C550.
