Guest bennish Posted November 19, 2005 Report Posted November 19, 2005 (edited) Hey guys Back on my old Eten, I used a copy of intellipad (the t9 texting input) i got from an xda forum (i hope that's not a bad thing to say on here) and i later got a *really* nice skin for it (instead of the awful aqua stuff) which can be seen below. Now i've tried applying that to the intellipad that comes on my k-jam and it just won't overwrite the necessary files! It seems they're in rom (regardless of whether i have ext rom installed or not). At first i thought, oh well, must just be that htc puts it in the rom and it can't be altered. But then i realised that the developer of the skin did it on a magician... so was the magician's intellipad outside of the rom, or at least not write protected, while the wizard's is? And if not, if they're the same, how could i overwrite these files seeing as it apparently works on a magician? maybe it's something in the registry. I hope this makes sense. I use the pad every so often and just loved the skin. Edited November 19, 2005 by bennish
Guest MitchellO Posted November 19, 2005 Report Posted November 19, 2005 On the Magician it was in the extended rom and had to be installed. With the Wizard, it was already installed, even without installing the extended rom. I would say the files you are talking about are in the protected ROM where the OS is stored.
Guest bennish Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 Sorry :) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> One day I'll find a way around it. Oh yes, one day! 8)
Guest Phil Lee Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 You can install these dlls by copying them to a temporary folder on your phone then using Total Commander to copy them into the \Windows folder.
