Guest Grayling Posted November 19, 2005 Report Posted November 19, 2005 I am having a problem installing tt5.1 on my m5000. I have installed tt5.0 successfully by following other posts on this site, but have found that when trying to install 5.1 there is only 1 file (ppcupd510.exe) and this runs the tom tom installer, which in turn brings up a microsoft error. I need 5.1 installed, as I would want to use the 7 digit postcode facility everyday(this didn't work on tt5.0). Also I need to activate the GPS control panel.Could someone explain how to, in simple terms please, including how to use a registry editor & which is a good one to use with wm5. Any help gratefully received. Many Thanks Grayling
Guest xspyda Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 I f ound the same thing today when trying to install TT5.1 on the Qtek 9100. I am assuming you downloaded the update from the TT download site? Well, I did the same and get the same error. I did a search on google for the update file and used that instead (not from the TT site). Worked a treat this time round and TT 5.1 happily installed on the Qtek. I will however be reverting to using it on the C500 but that's another story.
Guest Jasonkruys Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 Search on google, and you will find the file in its own right. Also, I did not need to use the GPS control panel at all, just works fine setting it up on COM port 8 from the bluetooth settings
Guest Larnsky Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 I did it by downloading the CAB files for the update, and installed them one by one once again, i thought i'd got them off of the TomTom site but clearly i didn't!

Guest mcwarre Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 County, Welcome to the site. As you are a novice the Caps Lock button is on the left-hand side of the keyboard; this should stop the SHOUTING! :) Get the official file from here
Guest Larnsky Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 TomTom have now released version 5.2 that is compatiable with windows Mobile 5, i know the old version worked through installing the CAB files, but you can now install it from the TomTom application.
