If you have a bluetooth enabled device and a pc with bluetooth and internet connection and they are in sync then by default you should be sharing the internet with the pc. I am doing this at work with a bluetooth adapter on the pc with a nominal 100m range instead of using a wi-fi connection.

Or in other words...

If your machine has BlueTooth, make sure Activesync is installed on that machine (PC or laptop) BEFORE you create a Bluetooth Pairing using the phone.

Set up a pairing on the phone, and when it is finished, it will work out that you have ActiveSync profile on the other machine, and ask if you want this added (in other words, the box for it will be ticked on the phone).

You can then use ActiveSync ON THE PHONE and tell it to "Connect via BT" and it will connect to the desktop PC or laptop.

Once you have a BT connection to ActiveSync on the phone running, then you should be able to use Internet Explorer and Email on the phone WITHOUT it trying to make a GPRS telpehone call, but instead by piggy-backing the existing connection on your PC or laptop.

If it doesn't, then you need to go into Settings, Connection Settings, on your phone, and make sure it is set up correctly for Automatic connections for Pass Thru.

Try that, and all should work.

Are you saying that anytime my phone is connected to my PC via ActiSync then my phone will use my PC's internet connection and not my GPRS?

Open Active Sync and go to File -> Connection Settings and set "This computer is connected to:" and put "The Internet".

When your phone is connected to your pc via active sync you should then be using the internet from your pc :)

Note... you will know if you are using GPRS if there is a G displayed above the signal meter.

Wal :D
