As per the title - if I have done my sums right, this post should be my post number 1,000 (though by the time many of you read it, I might be past that number, but this post I am typing right now, is my 1,000th as I type it and when I post it).

If so, if I remember correct, that should be my Sixth and final star!!!

It's been a long slog, and I am not getting too carried away here - looking at the post count of people like Ash and Paul and others, it's still a drop in the ocean.

But bearing in mind that I had a whole year away from any SmartPhone devices, and thus this board, and that I only joined in November 2003, when others have been in much longer, it's a reasonably decent achievement. Indeed, I have only been 'back' in here around a month.

Also, I am not sure how I now check this under the new look board layout etc, but last time I checked the full member-list, and post count and date of joining, there was no member who had posted more messages that me, who had joined AFTER me.

That may at first sound obvious, but all it takes is a member to join the day after me, and post more regularly, or have posted while I was away from the board, and they would have a higher post count than me based on the time on the board.

Last time round when I checked this, no one had done this!

I am not sure how it is now, but I will try and check.

Anyway, to deliberately make this post sound like an Oscar Night Thanksgiving Speech, can I just thank a certain few people on here...

Paul for giving us such a great site, Ash Warner for giving so much support and advice early on, and indeed being the person all those years back that replied to my first ever post and making me decide to actually get a SamrtPhone, Squall for his friendship and advice, and Peekie for being a true friend in a very real sense, as well as on board.

I didn't make this year's meet cos I was called in to work that day at only a few weeks notice in advance, but I did do Birmingham a while back and it was a great day.

Also a special mention should go out to a few others...

Firstly, a certain user with the username of a type of furry animal, for the long running argument and fight on here that I tried to keep civil, over my avatar - sadly, he gave one impression of being civil on here, but then did something really nasty elsewhere 'anonymously' but never ever realised he was tracked and caught out by Ip address, and confirmed by people in high places.... It was fun though, and helped me come of age, and win acceptance on here by the masses, if not all out support and love *lol*

Also, Dale, for the EXCELLENT Homescreens he created for my other half - to this day she LOVES them Dale - don't suppose you can do some in QVGA when Ruttensoft Homescreen Designer supports it, can you mate??? *lol*

Also Kevlar and Mccware, for the request for pictures of our lass in Thigh Length Boots, oops, was I not meant to say that guys? *lol*

There are sure to be many more, and to them, my thanks..

But can I end by saying what it means to me to be picking up this award for Best Actor - it means more to me than I can cover by mere words alone and...

Oops, scratch that, I got carried away for a bit...

I meant to say reaching six stars means so much to me, and I look forward to the next thousand posts, and as much fun and frolics, and no doubt occasional CIVIL fights too of course, on here.

Cheers All

Sir Sean Connery

(Er I mean, me, Shadamehr)

EDIT:

DARN.

Both members 'Confucious' and TigerNet joined after me, and yet have a higher post count than me - that's what a one year absence does for you. But third place in the entire site is still a hell of an achievement!

Only two members with a higher post count than me, that joined AFTER I did, is not bad, and in the case of TigerNet, he has 1,045 so I think I might just catch him soon.

Doubt I'll catch up to Confucious with his whopping 2,666 posts though.

The problem with hitting 1,000 is that you don't want to post another post afterwards, to make it then show 1,001

Ah well, too late now - here's 1001

Gorskar - pimp my post count... ME??? N E V E R !!! How can you say such a terrible thing..?

Should I say "I was deliberately misspelling it to avoid you any association and thus embarresment",

Or tell the truth and say "oops, sorry for spelling your name wrong" and thus be honest, yet incriminate you?

You decide... but remember, "Shhhh, they're listening in mate..."

Stu,

Nah, the person your thinking of started the thread.

But a person with a name of a long thing furry animal made it vitriolic and did the thing i mentioned elsewhere.

Name began with f.

Absolutely spot on...

He pretended to be the picture of charm and education and fair comment on here, then posted some very nasty things about a family member of mine elsewhere on the web.

Caught out by IP address in a sting operation I can't say too much more about.

To this day, doesn't even know he was rumbled...

Unless he reads this... but he stopped using the boards soon after.

I would expect that if he does read this though, and realise he was rumbled, he won't stick around too much anyway...
