Guest dirtypugger Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 Hi, I want to know the best way to play music from my spv in my car. I am considering buying a head unit with both an SD slot and USB slot on the face panel but wanted to know if anyone has got this already? If so can you link the phone via the usb cable or would i need to take out the sd card? I have also seen FM transmittors but i would assume the sound quality is questionable at best. Obviously I could buy a head unit with an aux jack but these tend to me more expensive and you do not get the ID3 tag. I would appreciate some help as its my first post, although i have viewed many other threads in past.
Guest gilesjuk Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 Windows phones don't support USB mass storage and so you can't plug them into any old USB port. This really sucks and I wish Microsoft would get with the programme. You'll have to use headphone socket on the phone linked to a FM transmitter (or plugged into an aux socket). A2DP and bluetooth is an option too, but I dunno if there's any stereo bluetooth receivers that can connect to a car stereo system.
Guest dirtypugger Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 Yeah, i thought as much. Im only looking to spend about £80 and for that I can get a head unit with SD slot. Iv still got a traditional size SD card from my previous smartphone so i guess I will have to have two lots of music files, one on the phone and one in the car. I cant see Microsoft changing anytime soon. Its a damn shame though as I have started using the orange music player this weekend which can only play on your phone.
Guest mcwarre Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Look for a head unit with an auxilary input (normally phono) then you can add a 2.5mm to 3.5mm jack adapter and a 3.5mm to phono one. The best way as it is a direct link
