animated homescreens

Hi Members / Forum,

I have read a few posts on here following searching info in regards to an animated homescreens. Friends of mine seem to be able to play home screen animations no problem with other phones like the recent sony errikson K608i for instance. I have noticed that the Orange smartphones C500 etc are incapable of doing this without third party support plugins etc.

I recently bought the madbeetle plugin to play animated homescreens on my phone not realizing that it inherantly only plays the makers homescreens which I believe from reading a few posts here are in .ani format. Also this plugin does not support the playing of animated .gif files. Further to this the only way believed to do this is to pay a yearly subscription to modaco plus for the right to download in a privalige package, a plugin RJHTML that may perform this function. As I am not really at the moment in the position to do this, is there any way or means to convert an animated .gif file to an .ani file to play on the madbeetle plugin. I anticipate the answer will probably be no but i will pose the question anyhow. Lastly as a matter of interest was this function overlooked or deliberatly omitted by microsoft when constructing the design of this phone. :??:

Animtaed homescreens seem to have disappeared from view as fast as they appeared.

You'll find a selection in our Downloads section though, mostly authored by member gpcarreon.
