ActiveSync only connects as Guest

For some reason my ActiveSync will only connect as Guest

When I delete and recreate the partnership it syncs the first time, but then if I unplug and reattach the phone it will only connect as Guest

I've done a search, but haven't found anything that's helped me yet. I've:

1) Restarted the phone and the PC

2) Reinstalled ActiveSync v3.8

3) Put in a Reg key for GuestOnly = 0

4) Put in the TCP ports I found HERE

A few other people have had this, just as unexpectedly by the sounds of it, but none of the previously posted solutions has worked for me.

Anyone got any ideas?

Nope, that hasn't fixed it!

OK, it's fixed

Hard Reset the phone,

Reinstalled my last Sprite Backup

Removed and reinstalled ActiveSync v3.8

Not a fun day at all, and all because I didn't realise the PC was off and then booted it with the phone attached.

What sort of bu11shit software is that?

Now that Microsoft Activesync 4.1 is officially the latest version (only went on the Windows Mobile site few days ago) I'd highly recommend all Windows Mobile users upgrade to it, not just the Windows Mobile 5 users. Assuming of course that you don't use the sync over wifi feature that Microsoft removed :?:
