Guest jaymez Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 Hello people! Few days ago I became an owner of Qtec 8310 smartphone. after I've setup and used it, I found few strange and ig biles, which are appended: /cemail.vol - 340K /pim.vol - 384K (personal settings?) /mxip_sysmtem.vol - 180K /mxip_notify.vol - 132K /mxip_lang.vol - 216K /mxip_initdb.vol - 28K Could You tell me whate these files are, and what for? Thank you.
Guest Geeklord Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 the cemail.vol file holds all of your sms. delete that and there goes your mail. Once you restart, the OS will automatically create a new cemail.vol I assume the other .vol files behave the same way, I'm just not sure exactly what they control.

I had asked the same question on a different thread. I could not even delete these files. So you are right it seems to be "important" files per Microsoft standards and even if deleted will come back upon resetting the phone.
