Guest yoda6 Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 Hi, hoping someone can help me out or at least confirm my experience is normal. I have recently upgraded my C500 to the latest ROM with Mediaplayer 10. Everything is fine except there is always a delay between the end of one music track and the start of the next. Normally this wouldn't be too big an issue but I like listening to music that flows seamlessly from one track to the next, mixed house music for example. This delay is never less than 3 seconds and can be up to 7 seconds!! I didn't use my C500 for listening to music before updating the ROM so I have no idea if this is a "feature" of mediaplayer 10 or not. Incidentally I have tried using TCPMP and that has the same problem, albeit slightly less pronounced. Can anybody shed any light? Please help if you can. Cheers.
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 You're following the mix, appreciating the skills..sorry, skillz ... of the deejay and just when he sets up the switch between tracks........GAP ! SILENCE ! Is there anything worse ? No. You need to rip the CDs with CDex to get one seamless wav or MP3. Get it from here You want the third button on the right in the software. :)
Guest yoda6 Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 You're certainly right about the first part, and thanks for the advice, but I do like having the individual track names and album art information, not to mention the fact that I already have loads and loads of CDs ripped to my PC, track by track, in wma format. Don't really want to have to do it all again if I can possibly avoid it. What I'm really looking for is confirmation that my experience isn't abnormal and/or a solution that allows me to keep on using my existing ripped collection. Cheers.
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 Rushing for a train but try demos of Pocket Music and/or Simple Tunes - one of those has cross-fade between tracks I think :)
