Guest Goose Whisperer Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 Another question re orange c550 ... Is there a 'meter' somewhere that tracks your Data usage when using the internet etc via GPRS so you can keep an eye on how much you're spending ? If so how do I get to it ? Also does anyone know how much the data costs and how its paid for on PAYG. ie do you buy a lump upfront or use a mb then pay for it ?? The Orange page Here doesn't even mention data costs !
Guest w411y Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 Not sure how much it normally costs but there are offers on (ring 450 i think its found under extras) and you can pay £1 for unlimited access for 1 day or £4 for 4mb i think it is over the month
Guest MiG:uK Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 its £4 per 1mb, but top up £15 a month u will recieve 300 free daytime texts, 3000 free weekend texts, and 600 free evening minutes 2 orange phones, plus 4mb of gprs usage. good deal eh. :)
Guest SilentlyScreaming Posted November 26, 2005 Report Posted November 26, 2005 The only GPRS meters I have found for our phone, so far, are shareware, and become crippled after a certain amount of time. Bit less than a month I think, to prevent you from just un-installing&re-installing the appe each bill day

Guest ScottS Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 How do you get all these free extras MiG:uK? I top up £15 a month but I only get 3000 free evening and weekend texts. I'd love to get the rest of it as well. Scott
Guest mrmond Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 The offers are getting better but the 300 free txt option is a new tariff which you cannot have at the same time as the 3000 eve/weekend txts. Free TEXT TOP UP is a tariff. £10 month = 300 txt, £20 - 600, £30 = 1000 call orange uk landline 20p min. other mobile networks 40p min spend £10. first month of 300txts applied automatically when tariff changed regardless of spend. 3000 txt for £15 is avalable as an add on to legacy tariffs (fixed rate, talk & save etc) or the new SAME RATE ALL DAY 15p minute orange, landline, 35p minute other networks. all txts outside of bundle are 10p the same rates tariff can be combined with the bonus top up OR 3000 txt OR use £10 (not top up by) in a week & get £5 free. You "Cannot" combine the text top up with the eve & weekend txt offer unfortunately but as you can change monthly you can swap around between the 2 txt options. some people get both because of having the eve/weekend txt already when the new txt top up tariff was introduced but Orange are gradually weeding all of those out. The best bit though is txts get applied for the first month automatically regardless of spend so by switching at the right time you can get 300 txt to use anytime or 3000 evening & weekend txt applied at CHANGEOVER on the tariff without putting any extra credit on ! Orange are aware and at this stage not going to do anything because most people stick with one or the other. The FREE TEXT TOP UP tariff also gives you 1mb of gprs access per month as well. combine this with the fact that at the moment you can register for free eve calls to other orange users when you top up by £10 a month, the SAME £10 to get the txts or £15 for the 3000 txts (then you've already spent £10 on top up anyway) and you can see why people are leaving orange copntract for payg. That free calls option is orange numbers BTW not landlines or mobiles, up to 600mins a month. Once applied it's on there for 5 years. MrMond
