C500 stuck in a loop

Good morning, my 1st post so I hope Im back up and running in no time :)

I used the C500 yesterday no problems and the last thing I did was try that game called Atomix (or similar name).

Fired the phone up this morning and it really does have a problem. I flicks between the orange start up screen and windows mobile, then the screen goes dark and it then retrys to start, but gets in the same loop..... Ive taken the battery out, the sim, the memory card, tried the hard reset. Im now at a loss....... does anybody know how to get me out of this predicament please ????

...an update folks!

Whilst the phone was doing this loop thing I help down the soft keys, all of a sudden the hardreset started. So I pressed '0' as requested and Im back up and running :) Yippeeeeeee. Is this normal for a c500 ??? Im used to a P910i and Ive never had anything like that happen to it .

I wouldn't say it was normal but it can happen.

The likely cause is that you used up all the phone memory. Install all third-party software to the storage card and don't fill up the memory with music, ringtones, homescreens, undeleted messages etc.

Apologies if this wasn't the case with you. :)

Sorry to have to tell you this but you have made another common mistake.

You have unpacked a cab file and got that strange file collection. Simply copy the cab whole to the phone and execute from there. :D

I recognised it because I still sing the lyrics to the chorus to myself sometimes ("the first cut won't hurt at all..."). Sadly, I can't get too enthused about the 80s genre despite the occasional gem as I was working my way to prog rock at the time which is where I've kind of got stuck ever since (as my avatar and sig attests to)! 8)

DS - Im slowly learning how to install etc.... Ive followed that fab link of yours once again :idea:

ONe last question, how do I create or get shortcuts to progs/games etc when i go into start..... ???

Connect phone to PC with ActiveSync.

Find the exe file for the program and right-click the icon.

Select copy.

Browse to \Storage \Windows \Start Menu \Games (as appropriate)

Right-click again.

Select Copy Shortcut.

Right-click again.

Rename to something sensible :)
