Yes, it's supposed to be. In fact, there's a new version 5.2 I've seen mentioned, which works for the higher res screens.

Does this still require the modifications to get it to work on Windows Mobile 5 (PPC)?

as far as i know tomtom works with windows mobile 5 on both smartphone and ppc :)
