Guest cybercamel Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 I know there are a few football fans on this forum, whomever you support this is football's loss. So as the title says, probably the greatest ever to grace these shores, and up there with Pele and Maradona. RIP George.

Dont be so damn disrespectfu! Whilst George Best had many faults, a little bit of time please for people to mourn in there own way before comments like that. Whether YOU like it or not, football is a sport watched and played by millions and George Best was an iconic figure. So bite your tongue young man and have a little more consideration. Burns had not competed since he passed out at the wheel of his road car on the way to the Wales Rally GB in 2003. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent surgery in April. " RIP George Best also, arguably greatest footballer to ever play.
Guest Pondrew Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 I knew next to nothing about George Best aside from what I gleaned in news reports over the last few years. Still, he obviously had quite an impact on the fans and the people who knew him. Condolences to the family and friends. As for Richard Burns, I DO follow motorsport although admittedly don't watch rallying very often. Shocked to hear he has passed away. I guess at the end of the day we never know when our time will be up...
