Guest Tech Posted November 26, 2005 Report Posted November 26, 2005 Hi I have a question for imate users. Since im reallllllly annoyed with orange and the C600 not being released until the year 20202020102012.... decided maybe i should go for the imate SP5m which apperently is the same as the C600 except it has wifi! question I have is: what are the good/bad things about the device where do you obtain the legal/genuine ROM updates from? is it possible to do development on it, like the other SPV range? what is the processor on it? (ARM..?)

(ARM..?) 1: It looks pretty - don't have one yet so can't list any bad about the actual phone. Stock availaibilty is iffy for this as well :-( Imate's uk repair agent is useless should you need them. 2: www.imate.com 3: From what I've seen available, yes. 4:http://www.imate.com/DETAILS_SP5m.htm - omap 850 @ 200MHz spec sheet. Guest fluffcat1 Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Hi I have a question for imate users. what are the good/bad things about the device where do you obtain the legal/genuine ROM updates from? is it possible to do development on it, like the other SPV range? what is the processor on it? (ARM..?) Got mine today so to expand on my answer to question 1.... Looks nice, I like the design. I *think* I'm right in saying it's the first HTC smartphone to be an all-silver design? All the other spv's/qteks/imates I've had have had dull grey/blue/black/white middle sections sandwiched between the covers. This looks nice.. but it feels a little bit plastic-y compared to a Typhoon. And it feels quite chunky. Photo's on websites don't do it justice IMO. It looks a lot better 'in the flesh'. The media buttons don't light up with the rest of the keypad. Can't think of anything else... But wireless smartphones ROCK! Richard
Guest nickcornaglia Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 Best Smartphone out there today. Get it! You wont be disappointed....especially if you've owned Smartphones before. Definitely the top of the line IMO.
