Wizard or Atom

Hi everyone my contact is up on the beginning of January and i am torn between getting the xda mini s or the o2 atom.

Having the keyboard on the wizard seems great as i can use the wifi to surf the internet and be on msn while downstairs or at college etc. The o2 atom doesnt have this but is a lot smaller and has a better camera etc.

Just wondering what peoples opinions are on this

I chose the Wizard over the Atom because of the keyboard, but I think the Atom is absolutely GORGEOUS! :) :D

I nearly ordered an XDA Mini the other day but am going to hold out for the Atom, for me the FM Radio is more important than the keyboard.

I think you've got to look at the differences of the two and see which items are worth it for you.

When's the Atom due out?

Does anyone know if the O2 Atom will be coming to the UK. I asked O2 and they didn't know. So no point holding out if it isn't coming. Can anyone offer any info on the elusive atom.

I agree with Mitchell above, the Atom is a beauty. If it had a slide-out qwerty, or even a slide-out numeric, i'd snap it up like that!

If you're the sort who's ok with having to use stylus, i'd recommend it.

Anyone know why Expansys are selling the Atom Value Pack for less than just the phone? Also the Value Pack says ordered upon request so I assume that the delivery of that will be sooner than the 19th Jan release date of the other one. Very strange.

Do expansys charge on despatch or order btw?

I had a MDA Vario and think the phone is great. Although had to go back due to lack of T-Mobile coverage. However I never used the keyboard. Not once. I used to use the transcriber for writing word docs and sms texts and it worked fine for me. Even the on screen pop up keyboard was fine. Maybe if I used the keyboard more I would have become a fan. I am willing to sacrifice the 5.5 mm in depth the keyboard and slide mechanism adds for an Atom.

But I hate waiting and it I can't find out when the atom is due if at all.(Note that O2 didn't take up the MDA Compact / M500 / Imate Jam in the UK) then I will get the O2 XDA mini s as I know that the coverage where I am is fine.

So if anyone is in the know then please put me out of my misery lol. :)

Apparently the O2 Atom isn't made by HTC but by Quanta Corp. Everyone was touting that the HTC Athena was the O2 Atom but its not. Apparently the HTC Athena is now known as the HTC Prophet. See below for a link and a review. Its due out next year sometime.

Still don't know when and if the O2 Atom will come to UK. But seeing as its not HTC who are getting good at building these devices I am not sure how the O2 Atom will perform.
