Thanks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just as a matter of interest, have you tried the O2 sim as they don't lock the phones on O2 - maybe orange don't either...
Guest xspyda Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 Just as a matter of interest, have you tried the O2 sim as they don't lock the phones on O2 - maybe orange don't either... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Funnily enougn, no I haven't and I don't have it here to try at the moment but I do know from experience that O lock their handsets :) Nice thought though!
Guest afhstingray Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 d'oh......my orange SPV M5000 is locked. it says check simlock status and there is a textbox for unlock. called orange today, they are charging me 20 pounds for unlock :) they unlocked my C500 for free last year !!!!!! dont know why they want 20 quid this time, argh.... and they say its going to take up to 16 days to arrive. Im travelling overseas next week, that was the whole point of me wanting an unlock. i sure hope its one of those situations where they say 16 days but it actually takes 2.
Guest Lordsmiff Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 To be honest with you, that doesn't sound too unreasonable (the price i mean) as usually they would want you to pay up the contract in full before giving you an unlock code and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you about the 16 days :)
Guest motin Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 just now had a very nice talk to florin from www.imei-check.co.uk and he claims he as the unlocking tool for the spv-m5000 at 50 gbp only problem he will niot do it via web but only via send it to uk office and they will do it for you and send back to you at extra 10 gbp. good luck to whom ever can send to him
Guest Jasonkruys Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 At that price, you may as well pay orange for the code at 20gbp, those with 02 handsets aren't locked, t-mobile is 15 quid I think, and (most) people with other devices aren't in this country or have no need for it :S

It is £15 and can take upto 28 days to take effect. Incidentally I had to be 1 month into my contract in order for them to do the unlock (not sure id that is the same for upgrades though)

Guest Confucious Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 (edited) Great first post - advertising your own site for a service which, although wasn't available 6 months ago when this thread was started is now freely available. The information you charge for - is it just a link back to the information freely availlable on this site? Edited November 6, 2006 by Pondrew
