Guest shaunm Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 (edited) Hi all...just ordered a XDA mini from o2 (online). I found a working demo one in o2 shop in Oxford Street London (Tot Crt Rd end) yesterday - so had a good play and confirmed i wanted one :) Bye bye Orange........ Those of you that have one.....What comes in the box? Sync cable?+ Any thoughts on cases? Thanks S Edited November 27, 2005 by shaunm
Guest RichardD Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 Mine arrived this morning, currently on charge. The box is a bit of a puzzle, you'll see what I mean. The attached picture doesn't show the charger or the stereo handsfree earphones. I didn't think it came with a charger, until I found the hidden compartment. :) There's two cd roms, one titled "Xda Mini S Application CD" the other "Windows Mobile 5.0 PPC Phone Edition GSM w/Outlk 2002 There's a quick start guide and a chunkier WM5 XDA Mini manual. It comes with a case, leather, magnetic flap, but it has a rigid belt clip that can't be removed (easily).
Guest Rob.P Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 What's on the "Xda Mini S Application CD"?
Guest efission Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 Is there any software included over the usual? I know some operators have stuck on GPRS monitor or similar in the past.
Guest RichardD Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 The o2 XDA application cd has the following on it... - ClearVue PDF Viewer - GPRS Monitor - Wireless Modem USB Driver
Guest Pondrew Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I've read reports of the XDA Exec CD software all being trial software. Is the software on the XDA Mini S CD simarly just trial software?
Guest RichardD Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I've only installed the GPRS monitor, can't see anything about it being a trial. In the about screen it says Version 2.4.2, Build 804, and at the bottom "Registered". Apologies, quite new to the PPC thing, in case you hadn't already guessed.
Guest MitchellO Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I would have loved to get the o2 version of the Wizard. I have been very happy with them, and would have stuck with them had the mini s been available here before/same time as the KJAM.
Guest RichardD Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 The additional buttons at the top on the TMobile Vario, - see pic http://www.coolsmartphone.com/images/stori...ain-screen1.jpg seem much better than the o2 versions that ran down the left side of the regular Today screen stuff. (I've removed them, opted for o2's so called "Basic" setup) Where's the "battery, memory, folder, backlight" today screen section gone ? I only have a battery item now, have to go through Start>Settings to access memory to then close running applications. They don't appear to be on the TMobile screenshot either.
Guest MitchellO Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 It would probably be installed if you used the full option instead of basic. If you use total commander to go to "\extended_rom" you can probably find the cab for installing the today plugin.
