Guest ashley Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 OK, so i just got my M1500 (Alpine) and am curious as to what continues to run when you press the power button on top. I'm used to my spv500 where you can leave messenging and msn runnning and the phone does not actually sleep, the screen goes off, and the handset carries on communicating. With my M1500, when it goes to standby, the messenging still works but skype and msn drop connections. What "level" of standby is this and why can only some M$ programmes run in this mode whilst others can't Ashley
Guest fraser Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I don't believe they are actually running, just that they handle the sleep better and reconnect on wake. You could test this by signing into MSN, press sleep, then try to talk to the account. If the phone wakes, I'm talking rubbish! AFAIK, only the phone is active in the sleep mode, along with a scheduled wakeup timer for housekeeping, alarms etc. BT is also active, and can probably wake the OS on demand.
