Guest leviking Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 Hi I have a Qtek (SPV) 8020 running windows mobile 2003. I would like to be able to remote control my Windows Media Player 10 on my Windows XP PC (with pause, play, previous, next). Is this possible? My phone supports bluetooth and I have a bluetooth dongle for my PC. Thanks for any help.

Only needs BlueTooth so you don't need to make contact through ActiveSync. Installs a little plugin in Mediaplayer so you see on your phone what's played. Just start the server on your desktop and the little client on your phone to be able to remote control Mediaplayer. It also controls system volume, WinAmp and MS Powerpoint and the best... It's free. I used it on my WM2003 device and still use it on my WM5 device. Though screenresolution is still small, I believe the developer is working on an update since he owns a QVGA device too. Try it, it's a superb app.
Guest madhatter2k Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 Wow, that's cool! I'll give that a try. Just ordered myself a USB bluetooth dongle! Anything else cool I can do with it, and my Qtek 8080?
Guest roma0803 Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 Nope, just WinAmp, Windows Mixer, Windows Media Player and PowerPoint. For WMP (as for WinAmp) there are various functions available.
Guest leviking Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 Thanks for the tip! Tried it out and it works perfect for me.
Guest Zim Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 Amazing Software :) Thanks for the heads up.. Zim
Guest leviking Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 Yes it works really well. Did some testing in my appartment - the response is INSTANT and my dongle works quite well so the entire house it covered with the remote. Some advice: Best thing is to autostart the tool on your PC, and allow automatic bluetooth connections to your phone. Then all you have to do is start the app on your phone, and the remote is active.
